• General

We want as many music fans as possible to be able to attend our festival. Therefore, we make every effort to ensure that our guests with disabilities can also enjoy a relaxed and unforgettable festival experience. In the long term, we aim to make our festival a little better and more accessible each year. We are always very happy to receive ideas and suggestions at barrierefrei@southside.de.

  • Festival Assist

If you are unable to attend our festivals without assistance, Freizeit ohne Barrieren e.V. provides trained companions. You can bring these with you free of charge to the festival using your special mark "B", "H" or "BI". All further information can be found here.

  • Arrival

    Arrival by Car
If you wish to arrive by car, you have the option to park at the "Special Needs Camp" and camp directly next to your car. There is also the possibility to park here for day guests or people who are not staying overnight on the site.
Please note that only one vehicle per group is allowed.
To use this offer, please complete our registration form under the "Registration" section.
If you are being brought by car, please contact us, and we can provide you with an alternative to the general drop-off and pick-up parking area.

    Arrival by Train
At Tuttlingen station, you will find step-free access to the platforms, tactile guidance systems, and a digital train indicator. Additionally, there is an accessible toilet with step-free access at the station.

Shuttle from Tuttlingen Station to the Festival Site
We have arranged a bus shuttle for you from Tuttlingen station. Approximately 85% of the vehicles used are accessible via a ramp. If a bus does not have a ramp, the next one will arrive shortly.
Please take the shuttle bus from Tuttlingen station to Regular Camping. At all festival stops, you can board and alight the buses via a ramp.

If you arrive at the counter at the Regular Camping ticket/wristband area by shuttle bus and are unsure how to manage the 1.4 km to the Special Needs Camp, we have set up a transport service for you in cooperation with the Johanniters. To use this service, please complete the following form: Southside 2026 Shuttle Special Needs Camp

If you have a B, H or BL in your ID, your companion can travel with you on the shuttle free of charge.

Further general information about arrival can be found here.

  • Ticket Purchase

For Southside, you need a regular festival pass, which you can easily purchase through our ticket shop.

If you have a "B", "H", or "Bl" entry in your disability ID, you are allowed to bring one companion to the festival free of charge – this companion does not need their own festival pass.

  • Special Needs Camp Registration

To ensure you have the most comfortable festival experience possible, we want to make sure there is enough space in the Special Needs Camp and sufficient sanitary facilities available.
Therefore, registration is mandatory to use the Special Needs Camp.

You can find the registrations for the Special Needs Camp here. Registrations close two weeks before the event starts. Late registration is not possible. Please note that registrations may also close earlier once the camp is full.

Please note that you can only use the camp, both for camping and parking, if you have registered with us beforehand.

  • Entry

You have registered yourself and your friends for the Special Needs Camp? Then all of you come together to one of our counters. There you will receive your festival wristbands, the car pass, and further information.

Note: You and your friends all need your own festival pass – except for the free accompanying person.
We recommend the counter at the Open-Air Museum; it is accessible on one level and there are parking spaces.

If you are arriving by shuttle bus, you can also use the counter at the South Ticket/Wristband Booth. This is not accessible by car and the paths are not always paved.

You will receive detailed information about where the counters are located and how to reach them a few days before the festival via email from us.

You do NOT want to stay overnight or park at the Special Needs Camp but are bringing a free accompanying person? Then you can come together to one of our entry points to collect your festival wristbands. Simply bring your ticket and your disability ID card with the mark "B", "H" or "Bl". Please note that we can only check in your accompanying person together with you if you arrive together.

If you have questions about tickets, entry, or visiting Southside, please feel free to contact us by email at barrierefrei@southside.de or by phone via our hotline +49 40 743059 48 (Mon – Fri 10:00 – 12:00 & 13:00 – 15:00)

  • Special Needs Camp

To make the festival visit as comfortable as possible for our guests with disabilities, we have established the “Special Needs Camp”. To use this service, it is necessary to complete our registration form under the “Registration” section.
You can bring up to three additional friends with a valid festival pass to the “Special Needs Camp” alongside your accompanying person. This means a total group size of up to five people is allowed.

To charge your medical and electronic aids, there is also a power connection at the “Special Needs Camp”. The nearest socket may be a little further away, so please bring an outdoor-suitable extension cable (50 m).*

Please note that the “Special Needs Camp” is explicitly a voluntary service for our guests with disabilities.

Of course, you are welcome to camp in the regular areas. However, please note that the sanitary facilities here are only partially accessible and there are no power connections. The distances can also be quite long.

*Please note that we can only provide electricity (240 volts) up to the distribution point, which may be up to 50 m away from your tent pitch location. Use is exclusively permitted for charging medically necessary devices. For safety reasons, we must limit the maximum power of each socket to 1,000 watts. The electricity is generated locally and is therefore susceptible to disruptions and voltage fluctuations. We accept no liability for the use of the power source or for any damage to devices caused by voltage fluctuations or outages. We reserve the right to interrupt the power supply temporarily for safety reasons during extreme weather conditions.

  • Gold & Platinum Lounge

Our Gold & Platinum Lounges each consist of several floors, which are connected by stairs.

This area is partly covered with wood chips. There are no accessible restroom facilities in this area.

  • Festival Site

The Southside takes place outdoors on an airfield site in a business park, but surrounded by meadows and fields. The site may be sandy, muddy or stony in some places. However, you will find many paved roads and paths on the site to get from A to B comfortably.

Cable bridges are laid in places on the concert site (infield). We strive to lay flatter cable bridges on the main paths to make your journey more pleasant, but this is not possible everywhere on the site. However, there is usually always an alternative route to avoid cable bridges.

  • Podiums

In front of the Green, Blue and Red Stages, you will find a podium in the front area for wheelchair users and people of short stature, with a maximum of one companion. The podium is accessible via a ramp. Access to the podiums is limited. This ensures that only those who truly need them can use them. If you require access to the podiums, please indicate this when registering for the Special Needs Camp or contact our service team. Close to the podiums, you will also find wheelchair-accessible mobile toilets for our guests with disabilities.

  • Sanitary Facilities

In the immediate vicinity of the "Special Needs Camps" you will find an accessible sanitary station. It features a step-free entrance, a spacious flush toilet, and a low-barrier shower. These low-barrier shower/toilet combinations are equipped with a Euro lock. So remember to bring your Euro key.

At the campsites and the infield, you will also find a wheelchair-accessible mobile toilet at each sanitary station. These are level with the ground for wheelchair access and are slightly larger to allow for transfers to/from the wheelchair.

  • Medications

You can easily bring your medications to the festival. A medical certificate proving the necessity ensures that you can bring prescription medications with you onto the festival and event grounds.

Medications that need to be stored refrigerated can be handed over to the medical staff in the first aid tents. There, the medications will be safely stored for you.

  • Light Effects

It is possible that strobe and light effects are used in the shows, which may cause epileptic seizures in some people.

  • Information on Site

For festival guests with and without disabilities, we offer a telephone information service during the festival. If you need information or assistance during the festival and the information point is too far away, you are welcome to call the support hotline (+49 (0) 800 555 2014). Our team will then attend to your request as quickly as possible.

  • Safety

Our security team is here to assist you with advice and support. If you feel uncomfortable for any reason or need help, please feel free to approach our staff, who can be recognised by their red vests. Additionally, paramedics are on site and can help you at any time.

In a medical emergency, call 112 – if you do not have a mobile phone, ask someone else to make the emergency call, or speak to a member of the security team.

  • Assistance Dogs

To protect your pet and other visitors, assistance dogs are unfortunately not permitted.
