27 new acts confirmed!
We know what kept you busy musically in the past year - the front pits in front of our four stages spoke a clear language. But unlike a well-known streaming service, our musical review of the year simply turns into a tastefully stable forecast for the future. And it looks truly festive: We've wrapped up a huge amount of musical presents for you, smoothed out their bows and stacked everything neatly under the Southside Christmas tree: with 27 new acts, giving presents is 27 times more fun!
Eloquent escalation: Deichkind have been shaping the style of contemporary German culture for several decades. The Hamburg formation seemingly effortlessly combines hip-hop and electro to create a sound that belongs to them alone. Their musical innovation is accompanied by lyrics whose hedonistic structure has deliberate holes that allow you to look deep into the abyss. Deichkind have been holding a disco ball up to the face of several generations with a wink, and their album "Neues vom Dauerzustand", released in 2023, is no exception in this respect. But fans who are simply looking for a good time can also look forward to it: Deichkind consistently perform live as if there is no tomorrow.
"Where did she suddenly come from?" echoed through large parts of the music establishment in 2023. At this point, Ayliva had already been making a name for herself on social media for years and, thanks to her talent, had a major deal with two acclaimed albums under her belt. After viral successes, chart-toppers and streaming records, one thing is clear: Ayliva is the voice that German music has long been looking for - and you can find her at festivals exclusively at Hurricane and Southside in 2024.
With Turnstile, a band is flying across the pond whose sound is difficult to grasp in a positive way: the formation from Baltimore makes hardcore punk, but so precise and to the point that their powerful sound is not only suitable for three Grammy nominations, but also for extremely creative jazz crossovers. Since 2010, the quartet has been surprising audiences time and again, and at the same time their fans know exactly what they are getting live: A high-energy combination of hardcore punk and melodic hardcore that seems to effortlessly disguise the complexity of their music.
The following music stars are also confirmed: Idles, Feine Sahne Fischfilet, Tom Odell, Bombay Bicycle Club, Silverstein and Danko Jones. The Subways, Noga Erez, Fatoni, Paula Carolina, Me First & The Gimme Gimmes and Karpe have also announced their participation. Enno Bunger, Adam Angst, Stella Bossi, Idkhow, The Last Dinner Party and Booka Shade are further guarantees for great live shows. Buntspecht, Ritter Lean, Becky Hill, Fast Boy, The Reytons and Aaron will also delight us all.
When we look at it like this, we can't wait for June - it's going to be AMAZING!
